SICU BIM MODELING AND RAPID PROTOTYPING
BIM MODELING
The SICU Project is digitally produced in building information modeling (BIM) technique of modeling in which AUTODESK REVIT ARCHITECTURE is used in a method of work sharing. The process works in such a way that the involving students working together working on a single model to synchronize it to a single central model. This gives students the opportunity for students to be focused and also will help instructors in the process of work subdivision.
SICU Drawing
The SICU Project as explained above is drawn and drafted in Autodesk Revit architecture 2013/14.all elements are made as families individually and then they are assembled similarly as that of the construction process in one revit format file. The Latest Drawings are linked here below.
RAPID PROTOTYPING
Prototype being a showcase for integrative disciplinary research and experimental prototyping raising up new space arrangements and building methods to give the evidence for cost efficient implementation. parallel to the construction process the SICU experimental housing tries to build use a 3D printer shown below for modeling purpose to see in scale how the project will be realized. The 3D printer is also under experimentation on how to produce 1:1 real scale details such as connection clumps.
SICU RAPID PROTOTYPING PROCESS
According to the tests done on the materials at hand the SICU model will be done on the 3d printer by using an stl file as an input for the printer and there fore creating assembled units in the right form as well.
